Event Information

Mark your calendar! Our 5K and 10K road races return on Saturday, May 15, 2021

The 9th Annual Run for the Son will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021, beginning and ending at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1111 4th Ave W in Spencer, Iowa. Both the 5K and 10K races are scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM. Our fun-focused event is open to all; walkers and non-competitive runners are welcome and encouraged to participate! All proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Catholic School, so come join us for a great morning of exercise and find your happy pace!


Registration is $30 per adult or $15 per youth (18 & under) through race day, and an event shirt is included. Shirts may also be purchased separately for $25/each. After Monday, May 10, shirts cannot be guaranteed for pickup on race day. Race packet pickup and last-minute registration will be held in the Parish Hall on Friday, May 14, from 6:00-7:00 PM, and again on race day beginning at 7:30 AM. You may register and pay online through Thursday, May 13, or you may print and mail a completed entry form along with your payment to the address below, postmarked by Monday, May 10.

A small transaction fee will apply. Youth registrations will receive a $15 discount on the confirmation page.

Awards & Divisions

Refreshments will be provided following the event, and prizes will be awarded to the male and female winner in each division:

5K Awards: Male & Female Division Winners
12 & under | 13-18 | 19-39 | 40-59 | 60 & over

10K Awards: Male & Female Overall Winners
Overall Male Winner | Overall Female Winner

(Remember, walkers and non-competitive runners are welcome and encouraged to participate!)
